Eddie has waited ten years to ask Anna to marry him. Many of those years were spent in Afghanistan serving in the Marines. The demons from what he witnessed keep him up at night. He feared that Anna would hate him if she knew about the things he did for his country, but when he sees his friends find peace in the love of their wives. He goes home intent on asking for her hand, not getting the answer he was expecting.

Anna stayed true to Eddie all these years, up until about three months ago. Teased about not ever having a boyfriend she goes out with the hometown bully. In that one night her world is turned upside down. Now Eddie is here asking her to marry him, but she refuses to drag him down in her condition.
